How can I tell if my Isolate is fitted correctly?Updated a month ago
A correct fit ensures that Isolate provides full sound protection and comfort. The metal stem allows precise placement inside your ears, while the thermo-reactive memory foam tips create a secure seal when fitted properly.
Checks for a correct fit
- You should not hear direct sound entering through your ears.
- The foam tips should sit securely inside the ear canal and not protrude beyond the outer ear.
- The fit should feel balanced and comfortable in both ears.
How to test your fit
- Insert Isolate following the fitting instructions: choose the correct tip size, push the tip fully onto the stem with no gap, compress the foam, and insert gently while pulling the top of your ear up and back.
- Allow up to 10 seconds for the thermo-reactive memory foam to expand and form a seal.
- Once fitted, your own voice may sound deeper, which indicates an effective seal.
Common signs of a poor fit
- The earplug feels loose or moves easily when you touch it.
- You can still hear external sounds clearly.
- The tips do not expand or seal evenly after insertion.
How to correct the fit
- Try a different tip size for a more secure seal.
- Ensure the foam tips are pushed fully onto the stem until they meet the base with no gap. The tip rings on the stem help lock the foam securely in place.
- Reinsert gently, allowing the foam to expand naturally.
Safe removal
The finger grip at the base of the stem lets you remove Isolate easily and safely. Pull the top of your ear up and back, twist gently, and remove slowly. Avoid fast or sudden removal.
When fitted correctly
When fitted correctly, all frequencies are attenuated evenly. You will still hear detail in your surroundings, but at a low and safe level suitable for extended use in loud environments.
